GNEC Main Street Pitch-Off  May 2025

Are you an entrepreneur located in New Jersey? If so, the GNEC Main Street Pitch-Off is designed with you in mind.

The GNEC Main Street Pitch-Off is a unique opportunity for business owners who have been in business for 1 to 5 years to receive invaluable support and guidance in honing their business pitch. This program aims to assist you in developing and practicing your pitch, connecting with experienced coaches, presenting to seasoned business professionals, and building a robust entrepreneurial network.

Key Notes:

  • This competition is exclusively for  entrepreneurs who have launched their business and have been in business for 1-5 years. To qualify for the GNEC Pitch-Off, your business must have generated at least $200,000 or less in revenue over the past 12 months in operation.
  • Only 14 businesses will be selected for participation, and a waitlist will be maintained for those who express interest beyond the initial capacity.
  • The application is due April 15, and you must be ready to pitch in person on May 10th at 9 AM.
  • The pitch competition will be conducted in English and requires selected participants to be available in person for pitching.
  • Additionally, participants must commit to attending at least two virtual coaching sessions.
Prizes: In the spirit of competition, while the primary focus of this pitch-off is to help you refine your business pitch, we will be awarding funds to those who achieve the highest scores.

  • 1st Place Prize - $10,000
  • 2nd Place Prize- $5,000
  • 3rd Place Prize - $2,000
Additionally, winners will be enrolled in one of GNEC's BackStop tracks—normally priced at $300 per track per year, with fees waived for winners—or other technical assistance programs tailored to their business needs after careful evaluation.

Entrepreneurs who have previously participated in a GNEC pitch competition and won a cash prize are not eligible to apply at this time. Additionally, if you have competed in a GNEC pitch competition more than twice—regardless of whether you placed—you are also not eligible. 














To be eligible for the GNEC Main Street Pitch-Off Competition, your business must have generated less than $200,000 in revenue over the past 12 months. Businesses with $200,000 or more in revenue during this period are not eligible to compete.


GNEC will request tax returns to verify your business's revenue.
